Hi! Tess here! I am a 1 year old Heeler mix and I am looking for my fur-ever home. I am spayed and up to date on my vaccines and house-trained . I am adapting well to being a Cana-dog after my journey from Georgia. I’ve discovered these wonderful things here called sprinklers and could run through it for hours! I have LOTS of energy so I would really love a big backyard an d a dog sibling to play with. I’m not a big fan of cats as I like to chase them and they don’t like that so a home with no cats would be best for me. Because I have so much energy I sometimes get excited and jump up to tell you that I love you so a house with children age 10+ would be best for me. I’m happy to hang out with younger friends after I learn some more manners.

Speaking of manners, I walk great on a leash unless I see something I want to play with and then I pull a bit , but foster mom says I’m already pulling less when she corrects me. My house manners still need some work as I really like to be with you in the kitchen but my foster mom has been working hard with me to learn what is appropriate and what is not. I am crate trained and sleep in my crate at night time and I hang out in it during the day when no one is home. If I’m having a hard time calming down in the house my foster mom puts me in my crate with a toy and I’m happy to play in there while she works nearby. I really do like my crate as it’s my safe space .

I can sometimes be a bit timid when meeting new dogs (especially some male dogs) but I usually warm up after a little bit or I just walk away. Foster mom has taken me to the dog park and I loveeee running around there but sometimes get a little overwhelmed by all the other dogs. I’m happy to run around by myself or find a dog with a temperament similar to mine to play with. I’m great in the car (although I would love to sit in the driver’s seat with you so I will need a harness or seatbelt). When I get bored of looking out the window I lie down and sometimes even fall asleep.

I have been told that I’m a super sweet pup but it’s important that you know that I am very energetic. I’m looking forward to meeting you and any potential dog siblings you may have for me.
