Hi everyone, my name is Trooper and I am so excited to meet you! I am a 4 ½ year old Heeler Mix weighing just under 50lbs and I found my way from Georgia back in January!

I am a very happy, silly boy who enjoys tap dancing! By this I mean I get so excited for people and food, you can see me do my little tap dance. I am great with kids and love to play with my foster sister. I can sometimes get a bit carried away, and I’ll bug her to play when she doesn’t want to but I stop right away when I’m told to. I LOVE to go for walks and have amazing manners on my leash! I haven’t been tested off leash, but I come when I’m called and my foster mom hasn’t noticed any real prey drive so with a little practice I’d be great with it.

My foster home I had in Georgia had cats, I wasn’t aggressive to them but I did like to chase them down so a home without them may be best, or at least dog savvy ones that are able to escape me when I want to play with them and while you train me to leave them alone. I also share my toys and food well, no guarding with me. I am housetrained, but I like to mark my territory so I will need to be watched closely for the first while until I know I’m home and I’ll stop. I also sleep in my crate at night, and during the day when everyone is at school and work. I like to be in the couch, even though my foster mom says no so a home that would welcome that or be patient while I’m learning not to would be great. I would love to go for a few walks a day and/or have a fenced yard to play in. I don’t really know any tricks, but I’m trying to learn a few and am very food motivated.
