Bulldog / Mixed (short coat) : : Female : : Young : : Medium
Hi! I’m Holly, a southern sweetheart. Foster mom calls me her love bug, I thought I was a dog, but who am I to argue? I’m just not the arguing type, my motto is; if you’re happy, I’m happy. Since I made the big move to Canada I have been staying with my two foster parents and my foster dog sister Molly. She is a chubby English Bulldog and the best host ever. We have had fun together, we get along great, we love to : wrestle/play, go on walkies, chew bones, snuggle on the couch & all the normal doggie stuff. I wouldn’t call Molly an alpha dog, but I am submissive to her and will play to her ability and energy. Did I mention I love Molly? I really love her, foster mom can barely get a picture of just me, I even give her good morning kisses right on the lips. I do need a home with a similar or bigger sized dog, I’m just not to sure what to do with those little purse dogs. Come to think of it, cats really aren’t my bag either, so I would need a home without a cat. I also think I would be fine as an only dog, as long as you gave me all the attention my heart desires. While I don’t currently live with kids, I have been around kids, I love them!!! I like to sniff them, kiss them, take treats from them and play with my toys with them. In my foster home I haven’t shown any destructive or mischievous behavior, the only thing I do, that I’m pretty sure I shouldn’t do is suckle on throw blankets. When Molly and I are alone we are left in our crates, I like the opportunity for some quiet time and I just take a nappy. I am house trained and like to go potty outside, I love the snow, so winter isn’t an issue for me. I LOVE going on walkies and getting exercise, so much so that I do try to actually walk my foster parents. I have been using this new halter, which is helping me to learn proper leash habits. I do bark when I see other dogs on my walk, I’m just so excited to see new friends; I am working on learning a proper calm approach. I do come when called off leash, but my foster parents aren’t confident that if a new doggie friend distracted me that I would always return promptly. I don’t need a fenced yard, but I do think it would be fun to have one to run around. I am a good little eater and haven’t shown any food aggression, Molly is hand fed, so I like to sit beside her and watch her eat, sometimes foster mom slips me a few bites. I especially like licking foster dad ice cream bowl with Molly at the same time. I haven’t shown any toy aggression, but I will say Molly doesn’t like to share so I do try to avoid this situation. We can chew bones at the same time and we switch safely when we are each bored of the bone we have. When it comes to tricks and commands, I would say I’m lacking in this department. I do know sit and the word no, but that’s basically where it ends. Foster mom has been trying to teach me this weird thing called shake a paw, and I just absolutely refuse. When it is bedtime, I am ready to relax, I can sleep in my crate all night like a good girl, but I must admit the king sized bed with my foster parents and Molly just calls my name. I sleep well in both settings, I don’t mind a good sleep in, but honestly the cozy blankets on the bed are where I want to be. I enjoy being in the comforts of home, but I do enjoy travel. I’m great in the car, when I’m loose I do like wandering around and looking out all the windows, foster dad wasn’t keen on this, so I have mostly traveled in my crate; so I just snooze and wait for the destination. I am comfortable in different homes, different areas and even in Home Depot. I love meeting new people and I get very excited, sometimes I do jump up, I am trying to learn how strong I am, and that this may not be the proper approach. In conclusion, my foster parents say I am an absolute joy to be around, I’m a very happy good girl. I am a young lady and have a playful side, I’m still fine tuning my best behavior. They say my perfect furever family will be blessed to have me.
