Hi! My name is Ralph!! I am an approximately 5-month-old German short-haired pointer. For the first 4 months of my life, I was kept in an outside kennel and I didn’t receive the love, care, and attention I really needed. I didn’t have a name and I certainly didn’t know how to live in a house or follow any commands. Since joining my foster family, I have started to really show my true colours and am learning so many new things. I now know my name, I have learned to sit and lay down, along with a few other fun tricks. I am very good with my potty training but I still need to go out a lot because I am so young. I will whine at the door when I need to go out and I try my best to not go in the house. I’ve had very few accidents with my foster family. I LOVE training and my foster mom currently hand feeds me my meals in order to get in lots of learning time. My current foster home has three other dogs and five cats. I get along well with everyone but I’m a little nervous when the big dogs are running around jumping and playing. I’ve started showing some interest in them but still need to build my confidence so slow introductions with other animals would be great. Since I was enclosed in a kennel outdoors for the first few months of my life, I am a bit nervous when it comes to going in a kennel/crate or being left alone. My foster mom is working on it slowly by having me go in my crate for short periods of time to get me used to it. Because of this fear, I currently sleep with my fosters at night, so I would love someone who will let me do this until I’m confident enough to sleep elsewhere. I love to cuddle and I will show you my appreciation with lots of snuggles and kisses. My breed traits are really starting to shine through as I become more confident. Someone with pointer or other similar breed experience is a must for me. I have so much to learn and I can’t wait to do it with you. I am neutered, microchipped and up to date on my vaccines.
