Husky (medium coat) : : Male : : Large
Hi, my name is Will! I’m a young Husky mix, but Foster Mom says I’m the calmest one she’s ever met ! I was born in Manitoba and made my way here to Ontario through quite a few different “homes”. Before I started living with my new Foster Mom, I was living with 5 other puppies and some big dogs, so I am super social and used to company. I love having a companion, although I get a little intimidated by big dogs, and it takes me a little while to feel comfortable enough to play with them. I would definitely like to have a fur sibling in my new home. I love all the people I meet, big and small. I’ve met a few kids and was curious and gentle with them when they pet me. However, I am a puppy still and will need reminders that even though it’s playful, I can’t use my teeth when I want to play with my human family. Foster Mom says No and redirects me to one of my toys to chew instead. I’m doing really well with not doing my business in the house, but I’m not fully housetrained yet and you’ll need to stay ontop of making sure I go outside regularly so I don’t have any accidents. I have started to go to the door on my own sometimes when I need to go out, although sometimes I just go to the door because I LOVE being outside. I would stay outside all day if you let me, but I also love coming in and laying on my dog bed for a nice nap or cuddling up with you. Foster Mom lets me snuggle in bed with her to watch a movie sometimes. At night, I sleep on my dog bed beside foster mom’s bed. I sleep through the night well. I go in my crate during the day when my Foster family isn’t home and am starting to get used to it, but I do make abit of noise at first because I’m sad to be alone. I’ve been pretty good about only chewing my toys and not things I shouldn’t, although sometimes I try and play a bit with my dog bed or blankets. I love my stuffed toys with squeakers! I know how to sit and lie down. I’m still learning how to walk on a leash because there’s so many things to smell, I zigzag all over the place. Foster Mom is working on teaching me to stay on one side and sometimes she says “Heel” which I haven’t really figured out yet but when I stay close to her side, she gives me a treat! I’m pretty low energy for a Husky, but I am still a puppy, so I get lots of zoomies, want to play and wrestle with my dog friends, and will need regular exercise. My perfect family will be active and want to take me on lots of adventures with them ! Will is being fostered in Barrie, and that's where his meet and greet will be held.
