❤️SKY❤️ Well, the time has come once again to find this sweet girl her forever home. We tried vigilantly for a couple years when her and her brother (who is blind AND deaf) came into care to find them a home together but had zero luck. Sky then had issues with the one eye she had that needed to be dealt with before we searched again. After having her eye removed and her micro eye cleaned out and sewn up in the spring she has finally healed and ready for her search. She is no longer bonded to her brother as they don’t spend any time together and Sky is very much a Velcro dog and wants to be with her people ALL the time. Sky is a standard double dapple dachshund. Her parents were bred to produce the color she has, and as a result she ended up being blind. Breeding spot on spot is NEVER ethical as this is the sad result. But don’t let the fact she’s blind fool you!!!! She knows EXACTLY where you are at all times and she knows when something new is in her space too!!! She can do stairs (up and down) and can navigate her house once she knows the lay of the land. Sky is loving, affectionate, cuddly and will do anything to please her person. She is fine with other dogs and cats, although we are seeking a quieter home for her as she is a bit of an attention hog . Due to her being blind, we are also seeking a home with kids over the age of 12 as she does startle if someone comes up to her too fast. Sky’s favorite past times are; hiding under blankets, barking at most things (just in case YOU didn’t see it), telling her foster brothers and sisters off, demanding affection, demanding kisses, demanding hugs……did we say she was demanding??? Well, now you know . This quirky little lady is very special and has been a part of Hank’s for a long time. So she won’t be going to just anyone. She deserves a special home where she is the center of attention as she has had to share that attention since she came
