Hello everyone! I’m Jewel! You’ve maybe seen me around on Instagram. I think I’m around 2 to 3 years old. Not too big, only around 40lbs. I arrived here from Georgia last month and have just been relaxing and taking a bit of time to figure out what Canada is all about. While the snow is quite pretty unless I’m playing with my foster brother I’m just not a big fan of this cold thing here. I would much rather be curled up beside you in the warmth. So I’m really excited about spring and all the exploring there is to do. My foster mom says I do ok on my leash and just have to perfect my skills. When I arrived I wasn’t sure what inside was really like, I was a little quiet and a bit nervous at first but quickly became comfortable in my foster home. I know what the couch is all about it’s one of my favourite spots. I’m currently living with a dog Bentley, he’s the best! We play and play! I do know that I need to give him space as well and we both have great naps during the day. It would be great if I could find a fur brother just like him! Since coming to Canada I’ve learned that I need to go potty outside and am pretty good at all the inside house manners too! My foster mom doesn’t know much about my past but she knows that it wasn’t very good. She is pretty sure I’ve had lots of pups and not too sure if I was ever allowed inside, but she says I fit right in. You may notice that I don’t have a tail, it’s not something I like to talk about but the people who had me before tried to remove it on their own, and it went very wrong so they left me at a shelter. The nice people there helped me out by trying to fix it but it just couldn’t be saved. I don’t even know it’s missing though I still have a happy dance every day and shake my bum like no one’s watching. Overall I like to dog, I’m curious about things, I love treats and have even learned how to sit for one. I love all dogs but I’m not too sure about cats as I haven’t met one ...but I know squirrels are fun to chase. My foster mom says I’m the perfect amount of chill and excitement. I love to play chase, run, play with toys and wrestle with Bentley. In the evenings I just wanna hang out with my human and be beside them. I’m working on crate training and do settle but am a little anxious at first, I get lots of treats though for going in by myself.
