Hank's Haven Rescue Foundation

About Us

Our Story

Hank's Haven was founded by Nicole.  Having been in the rescue industry and seeing the ins and outs, she decided that in order to truly make a difference in dogs’ lives and be proud of what she was doing, she needed to start her own. Nicole has since gone on to graduate from the Canine Foundations course from Georgian College and will use her knowledge helping reactive dogs all over the province. This will hopefully lead to less owner surrenders and more adoptable dogs. Nicole works with shelters and humane societies across Ontario and enjoys showing the world what potential a dog has. Nicole and her whole team have a deep passion for helping animals, and have devoted the rest of their lives to do so.  Our BOD consists of Nicole, Megan and Sam (who started as fosters for Hank’s but quickly became members of the Hank’s family) and have been an instrumental part in rescuing and rehabbing MANY dogs. The rest of our team is made up of an amazing group of fosters and volunteers all with the same desire to help our animals live out the rest of their lives loved and cared for.

Hank's Haven was named after a Bull Terrier named Hank.  He was euthanized through no fault of his own, and for no apparent reason other than "no time, no space".  Nicole grew to know Hank, his story, and his need for love and the perfect home.  All of that was taken from him too soon.  Hank will now live on through all of the dogs that Hank's Haven will save, protect, and rehabilitate.  Hank's name will live on in all of the dogs that will get the chance he never did.
