Hi! I’m Hatchi and I hail from northern Manitoba and I’m a 70lbs love bug. I have been in Ontario now for a few weeks and am getting used to this warmer weather. I don’t live with any dog or human siblings but I think I would really like some. I’ve met many dogs and even had some sleepovers with them and I would love a home with a fur sibling (but no cats or loose small animals please). Some human siblings would be okay too! I sometimes forget how big I am so kids that are a bit older or dog savvy would probably be best. I have been through some battles in my young life and despite some bad experiences I still love and trust people. You will notice that I have a scar on my back. The vet (I loveeee him, he gives me all the treats) says it is healing very nicely and it doesn’t cause me any issues. My foster mom has taken good care of it and I am not bothered by it when you pet me. I am a bit of an attention hog and love to be brushed, hang out, or play with you. I’m not a big fan of the bath but I will sit still for it as I know it’s important. Giving me some treats during it sure does make it better. Foster mom says that I can be a bit stubborn. The good news is that I am easily convinced to do anything for some treats. Once I settle in you’ll see just how playful I am and how much I can do. Foster mom has also taught me to stay off the furniture and I may jump up sometimes but not very often. I know where I’m allowed to go and am really good at following the rules. If you let me sleep in your bed I would like that for the first few days but after I’ve settled in I’m likely to sleep on the floor in the hall where I can have some more space but still keep an eye on everyone. My wish list for a fur-ever home is a backyard where I can run around, someone who’s willing to take me on walks since I’m pretty good on a leash but still learning not to pull when I get excited and a place where I can feel comfortable while I continue to learn that my crate is my safe place. I’m a very well-behaved dog (or so I’ve been told) but I do sometimes like to chase cars so not living on a main street would probably be best.
